Cascade Dam, Katoomba
Client: Water NSW
The Dixon team was asked by Water NSW to remove a hazardous tree that was above the spillway and dam wall at Cascade Dam. The large tree had split at the base of the trunk, was approximately 20m tall and growing within close proximity to the spill way and Dam wall. It posed an immediate risk to the wall and nearby pipeline.
The crews used advanced rigging equipment to safely remove the tree into the spill way. Once in the spill way, the material was removed using a 75m flying fox rigging taking it from its location to the access road.
